Investment Philosophy

The Mackenzie North American Equities team invests in what they identify as the best value opportunities across North America. We believe that investing in companies with quality characteristics provides a better opportunity to close the value gap while limiting potential downside risk. We strive to tactically allocate across the market cap spectrum to potentially realize value from the best opportunities in the marketplace.

  • Employs a disciplined, consistent and repeatable approach to stock selection focusing on companies whose stock prices are trading below the assessed intrinsic or fair market value.
  • Investment decisions are guided by the team's rigorous process and assessment of fair market value.
  • Portfolio targets 35-65 securities and is well diversified by company, sector, and market capitalization.

The Canadian All Cap Value Composite seeks to provide superior long-term capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of undervalued Canadian equities across all market capitalizations. The composite was created on December 31, 2012.

Benchmark Description

The benchmark is the S&P/TSX Composite Total Return Index. The S&P/TSX Composite Total Return Index is a capitalization-weighted index that represents some of the largest float-adjusted stocks trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
