Philosophy and process

The Mackenzie GLC Team blends top-down macro-level analysis with fundamental bottom-up stock analysis. We seek to identify industry risks, competitive opportunities and macro trends to influence sector allocations. This top-down view is augmented by a disciplined and thorough fundamental due diligence process to identify companies that are positioned to outperform. Within well-defined risk parameters, the team seeks out companies across the market cap spectrum and will take meaningful positions in specific companies when opportunities present themselves.

Oh Canada! A case for optimism in Canadian active management

The core feature of any market-weighted index is that its returns are linked directly to its largest members by market cap. Any passive investor or allocator to that index, by definition, will have their prospective returns similarly linked to those major constituents.
