Phil Taller, MBA, CFA

Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Investment experience since 1991

Phil Taller, a former Investment Executive “Portfolio Manager of the Year”, is the lead Portfolio Manager on the fund and will manage the US equities. Phil’s area of expertise is U.S. mid-cap stocks.

Phil has been managing US Mid Cap Growth Class since the Fund’s inception in 2002. His career in the investment industry began in 1991 as a Research Associate. Starting in 1995, Phil was at a leading Canadian mutual fund company as a Portfolio Manager on the Canadian equities team. His focus was on bottom-up company analysis, and he co-managed $10 billion in Canadian equities.

Phil has a Bachelor’s degree (Mathematics and Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Bryan Mattei, CFA

Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Mackenzie Asia Team

Investment experience since 2006

Bryan Mattei, Vice President, Investment Management, is a Portfolio Manager on the Mackenzie Asia Team. Bryan’s area of expertise is in Asia Pacific small- and mid- cap stocks and manages several institutional mandates.

Prior to joining Mackenzie in 2014, he was the Head of Research at a leading American financial services firm and an Equity Fund Manager at an Irish bank.

Bryan has a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude) from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and is a CFA charterholder. 

Kalle Huhdanmäki

Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Mackenzie Europe Team

Investment experience since 1998

Kalle Huhdanmäki, Vice President, Investment Management, is a Portfolio Manager on the Mackenzie Europe Team. Kalle’s area of expertise is in Europe, Middle East, and Africa small- and mid- cap stocks.

Prior to joining Mackenzie in 2019, he was a Co-Portfolio Manager at a leading European investment management firm and contributed significantly to the development of a successful, long-term track record.

Kalle has a Master of Science degree (Econ) from the University of Copenhagen.
