Mackenzie Unconstrained Fixed Income Fund
Steve Locke discusses the benefits of investing in Mackenzie Unconstrained Fixed Income Fund
STEVE LOCKE: One of the challenges that investors face every cycle is dealing with volatility, particularly around those market downturns that come up for riskier asset classes. For fixed-income investors, often this is experienced around the high-yield market. Helping investors stay invested through that part of the cycle is important and at Mackenzie, we're launching Mackenzie Unconstrained Fixed Income Fund to help with that.
This is a fund that's investing in a higher-yield-oriented basket of securities from anywhere in the world, and seeking to protect against downside risks through much of the cycle by using certain derivative strategies within the portfolio. Again, the objective here is to help investors brace for that volatility within the fund itself, and an unconstrained approach to building the portfolio is going to be helpful that way, as well. So we use tactical management of the team to position the fund to produce positive returns over time while limiting the downside risk through the use of derivative instruments.
Mackenzie Unconstrained Fixed Income Fund may be ideal for certain clients who are looking for a sleeve of differentiated product within their total return experience of their overall portfolio.
